Guardians recalled RHP Franco Aleman from Triple-A Columbus. Aleman had a sparkling 0.32 ERA in 28 1/3 innings in Triple-A Columbus, along with 43 strikeouts and just eight hits allowed. The Guardians will give him another chance to stick after he allowed one run in 2 2/3 innings in a brief taste of the majors earlier this year.

Watson’s clutch knock came after Brayan Rocchio hit a game-ending two-run homer in the opener of this four-game series on Thursday night. Before Watson stepped to the plate, the Guardians’ bullpen guided them to victory.
